In January 2012 nearly 50 people from our villages met in St Weonards Village Hall to think about local community resilience in the face of dwindling natural resources. A lively debate, with varying views, followed a presentation by Malcolm Howard and John Oubridge, and sections of the first Transition Network video.
You can also view Malcolm's presentation here. The meeting was almost unanimous in wanting to find out more and have further meetings, so watch this temporary web page for information. Please check back regularly - this page will be dynamic!

Posted 20th February 2012: An interim meeting of the local resilience group met at Garway Village Hall and watched the full version of In Transition 1.0 - an excellent introduction to the Transition Movement (which you can watch in full here). There were discussions about future ideas (including a community growing group), plus a couple of reports on local initiatives (including the home brew club and the new solar panels at St Weonards). The group was also asked to come up with a name for itself! Malcolm also presented a list of useful videos he can show in future, and the feedback ideas from the previous meeting - you can see his presentation here.
Posted 9th February 2012: The new Home Brewing Club has had it's first session - there are now 6 people who will share home brewing skills (and results!) and several more hve expressed an interest. Anyone else who may be interested in either learning or sharing their knowledge would be welcome at the next meeting, when we will be doing the first brewing and bottling at one member's home.
