Sending out workers

5 May 2022 • From Bishop Richard Jackson

Bishop Richard opened the May Fair in Hereford this week, 901 years after the first one was held in the City.  He reflects on the healthy degree of cooperation between civic authorities and the church and that, by working together, there is the possibility of real community transformation.  He commends the active involvement of lay people in many aspects of church life, but also reminds us that Jesus calls us to pray and to send out workers into his harvest (mission) field.'  Bishop Richard says that 'the revolution we now need ... is the democratisation of mission.'
