Open Garden attracts a crowd

Open Garden attracts a crowd

The Herbert and Mynors families were delighted to welcome well over two hundred adults, children and young people to Treago Castle gardens during the afternoon of Sunday 27 June.  The rain held off allowing everyone to enjoy the fine display of roses and perennials in the formal garden, as well as explore the 'wilderness' towards the walled kitchen garden.

After months of COVID-19 restrictions, it was clear people really enjoyed an afternoon out and, through generous support for the raffle and lots of tea and cake, we were pleased to raise over £1,100 for the work and ministry of St Weonards Church.

We're very grateful to everyone who came to support this event, to all who volunteered before or on the day, and to those who donated delicious summer hampers for the raffle, including the Duchy of Cornwall and Pengethley Farm Shop.  The traditional skittle alley was as popular and challenging as ever!

We look forward to seeing everyone again at future events at Treago.
